As a professional counsellor I can help with providing tools and psychoeducation to provide a basis for understanding and moving through the challenge

How does hypnotherapy help you quit smoking?

Hypnosis is a process that allows deep relaxation and the ability to experience a sense of complete calm. This same sense of calm allows the unconscious mind to absorb positive suggestions for good health and well being. This also allows me, as your therapist, to address the part of your unconscious mind that influences your thoughts and habits that will enable you to become a non-smoker.

It is important to note that your unconscious mind will never allow you to do something you do not want to do. This relaxing process is also designed to eliminate smoking triggers whilst setting the scene for a new outlook on life as a non-smoker.

What makes our hypnosis program so effective?

There are many reasons why hypnosis works to hep you quit smoking. These are the two most powerful in their acknowledgment and in the process.

  • Smoking is not a physical addiction. It is a mental addiction to a habit. So if we address the area of the brain responsible for the habit, then voila, we have rewired the brain and eliminated the addiction.

  • Like all our hypnotherapy sessions, regardless of the goal, sessions are specific to each client's needs. Each person is not the same; even though you may share a common desire to smoke like others, your willingness to continue to smoke and the overall relationship you have with smoking is unique to you.

Like many, I tried numerous time to stop smoking. Each time was a little longer than the last, but something kept taking me back.
I was up to 60 cigarettes a day, sometimes 90 a day if I was socialising. 20+ years on, and I am a successful non-smoker, thanks to hypnosis.
